How to care for 925 silver jewelry
- Jewelry made from 92.5% pure silver, export standard, free from nickel which causes allergies, plated with 3 colors of pure gold (White gold / Yellow gold / Rose gold)
- Real silver will naturally tarnish or blacken when exposed to air. The gold plating will tarnish quickly or slowly depending on the wear/skin condition of each person.
- Please avoid contact with seawater, chemicals such as hair dye, perfume, as these will cause the silver to tarnish (you can wear it while showering without removing it).
- Jewelry should be stored in a ziplock bag or an airtight bag to prevent oxidation of the jewelry when exposed to air.
How to clean
- Mix dishwashing liquid with hot water and stir well. Then soak the jewelry in the water until the water is warm. Then use a soft brush to scrub gently. Rinse with clean water and blow dry.
- Wash with jewelry cleaner. Never use silver cleaner to clean as it will cause the gold plating to come off and damage the jewelry surface.
- Bring the jewelry back to the shop for re-plating or send it to a general jewelry repair shop for plating.
*** Rose gold color will tarnish or blacken more easily than other colors due to the ingredients used in the plating. ***
Jewelry Care (Sterling Silver)
– Base Metal is 925 Sterling Silver, Nickel Free, Real gold plated
– Sterling Silver will naturally become oxidized and eventually tarnish, color plating will become faded between 3-12 months faster or slower dependent on usage and skin type
– Please avoid extreme humidity, heat, seawater, liquid chemical and perfume as this may cause tarnishing (it is ok to wear while showering)
– Storing silver jewelry in an air-tight protective bag made of tarnish proof cloth or sealed plastic bag when it is not being worn will keep out the air that causes the oxidation
– Jewelry can be cleaned with soapy water and a soft polishing cloth, jewelry cleaner liquid (avoid silver cleaner liquid as it will damage the surface plating) or re-plate at jewelry shop (to be like new)
*** Rose gold plating is more sensitive to tarnishing due to ingredients***
